Hoy voy a hablar de un musical que no necesita presentación: "Grease". Se trata de una película musical norteamericana del año 1978, dirigida por Randal Kleiser. Está basada en un musical de 1971 del mismo nombre que nos cuenta la historia de dos enamorados en un instituto en la década de 1950. La banda sonora fue el segundo álbum más vendido de 1978 por detrás de la de "Fiebre del Sábado noche". (Para más información:Grease )
Today I present you a musical that needs no introduction: "Grease". It's a 1978 American musical film directed by Randal Kleiser. It is based on a musical from 1971 of the same name about two lovers in a 1950's Highschool. The soundtrack album ended 1978 as the 2nd-best selling album of the year in the USA, behind "Saturday Night Fever". (More info: Grease )

Continuando con los músicales, otro grupo de alumnos de 2º de Bachillerato decidió interpretar "A very Potter Musical". Este musical fue compuesto (música y letras) por Darren Criss, más conocido por su personaje de Blaine en la famosa serie de televisión Glee, y por A.J. Holmes.
Continuing with musicals, other group of students of 2nd of Bachillerato decided to perform "A very Potter Musical". This musical was composed (music and lyrics) by Darren Criss, best-known for the character of Blaine on the famous TV show Glee, and A.J. Holmes.

La historia es una parodia que se basa en las novelas de Harry Potter y nos cuenta la historia de cómo este regresa a Hogwarts y sus tribulaciones como adolescente, así como el retorno de Lord Voldemort al poder. El musical se representó por primera vez el 9 de abril de 2009 en el campus de la Universidad de Michigan y se puede ver online (pinchad aquí: A very Potter Musical ). Después de subir el musical a Youtube, se hizo "viral". Se queréis ver la versión de mis alumnos, echad un vistazo al vídeo a continuación (los diálogos hablados están traducidos al español):
The story is a parody based on Harry Potter's novels and tells the story of Harry Potter's return to Hogwarts School, the tribulations of adolescences and the return of Lord Voldemort to power.  The musical was performed in April, the 9th 2009 on the University of Michigan campus and can be watched online (click here: A very Potter Musical). After putting the musical up on Youtube, it became viral. If you want to see the cover of my students, take a look on the video below (spoken dialogues are translated to Spanish):

Continuando con los musicales, hoy os presento otro. Esta vez se trata de una película musical de dibujos animados de Disney llamada La sirenita. Basada en un cuento de hadas de Hans Christian Andersen, la película cuenta la historia de una princesa sierna que sueña con ser humana (La sirenita (wiki))
Continuing with musicals, today I present you another one. This time, it's a 1989 Disney's animated musical fantasy film called The Little Mermaid. Based on Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, the movie tells the story of a mermaid princess who dreams of becoming human. (The Little Mermaid (Wiki))






La banda sonora contiene canciones escritas por Alan Menken y Howard Asman. Esta banda sonora recibió muchos premios como el Oscar a la mejor banda sonora y a la mejor canción original (dos de los cuatro Oscars relacionados con el sonido que comentamos en una entrada anterior y que ya conocéis) y el Globo de Oro a la banda sonora original (La sirenita, banda sonora wiki - Solo disponible en ingles). Verónica, una estudiante de 2º de Bachillerato, eligió esta canción cuando tuvo que interpretar un musical. Aquí la tenéis:
The original soundtrack contains songs written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. This soundtrack received many awards like the Academy Award for Best Original Score, Best Original Song (two of the four sound's Oscars you already know) and the Golden Globe for Best Original Score (The Little Mermaid Soundtrack wiki). Verónica, a student of 2nd of Bachillerato, chose this song when she had to perform a musical. Here you have it:







Ya conocéis a Verónica de otras entradas y no hace falta decir que es una maravillosa cantante y que era una parte muy importante de mi "Glee Club" (el cual echo mucho de menos, pero los recortes traen consecuencias como esta). Estoy segura de que os ha emocionado su interpretación. Como siempre, os invito a dejar vuestros comentarios. :)
You already know Verónica from some other posts and no need to say that she is a wonderful singer and she was an important part of my "Glee Club" (which I really miss, but budget cuts bring consequences like this).
