¡Hola a todos/as!
Quedan pocos días para el 17 de marzo, en el que se celebra el Día Nacional de Irlanda y el Día de San Patricio. Podéis conocer la historia y las tradiciones que asociamos a este día pinchando en este enlace. Desde la educación musical y la educación plástica podemos hacer un acercamiento muy significativo a los elementos culturales de esta celebración para aprender sobre otras tradiciones y valorar las representaciones artísticas de otros países.

En el área de música, para el día de San Patricio, podemos aprender sobre:
- Instrumentos tradicionales irlandeses
- Baile popular irlandés
- Música celta
En la cultura popular existen numerosas referencias a la música celta. Podemos encontrar música irlandesa/celta en bandas sonoras de películas como:
Braveheart (James Horner - Main theme)
El señor de los anillos (Howard Shore - The passing of the elves)
Odio en las entrañas (Henry Mancini - Main Title)
Barry Lyndon (The Chieftains - Women of Ireland)
Pero si queréis música tradicional irlandesa para preparar danzas en clase de música, lo mejor es buscar "jigs" y "reels" que son formas musicales típicas de baile. Esta es mi favorita, que se incluía en la película Titanic: John Ryan's Polka
Si, en cambio, lo que buscáis son canciones para tocar con instrumentos musicales del aula como flauta dulce o percusión Orff, una melodía sencilla es la de la canción "O son do ar":
