I ❤ Halloween crafts // Yo ❤ las manualidades de Halloween

¡Hola a todos/as!

Hi, y'all!
Today I made a compilation of my favorite Halloween crafts to use in the Pre-K and Primary Classes. On the internet there are lot of ideas and designs to decorate your class or your homes, but I've wanted to collect here the ones I like the most.

The best 21 Halloween crafts compilation

As I already said in the previous post, about the Halloween key vocabulary, when you want to plan craft lessons you have to decide which words you want to teach previously (a part from knowing which art and motor skills you want to encourage, of course). Thus, here there are some crafts for the arts class (mainly) that I've compiled based on the Halloween monsters and other terms I want to work with my young learners. These crafts are easy, with non expensive materiales and easy integrated in class.

Vocabulario clave de Halloween Bilingüe// Bilingual Halloween Key Vocabulary

¡Hola a todos/as!

Hi y'all!
As you know, there are only a few days left for Halloween, and in the bilingual schools we're doing a special effort in order to learn and reinforce the main contents of this English-speaking celebration. To do so, the first step we took was to prepare a list with the most important vocabulary about Halloween. Afterwards we can develop the activities to practice these contents.

Bilingual Halloween Key Vocabulary

Obviously, we can add plenty of other terms, but this is Halloween's key vocabulary for EFL teaching so these activities are not only meaningful but also interesting  and useful for our classes. Here there is the glossary of Halloween terms that I've made:

And here you have, divided in topics, posters with the Key vocabulary and translation into Spanish:

With this word glossary you can plan the rest of the activities related to Halloween. Furthermore, this resource will help teachers who aren't fluent in English or Spanish.

I hope these were useful. If you want to see more about Halloween, you can also visit these other posts. If you use them, please, tell me how you did! Do you have any other vocabulary?

Happy Halloween!!!!

Partitura para Halloween "The Skeleton Dance" / "The Skeleton Dance" Halloween Music Sheet

¡Hola a todos/as!
Después de publicar la recopilación de canciones infantiles de Halloween, me han escrito algunos/as compañeros/as docentes pidiéndome las partituras para poder tocar y cantarlas, así que ¡me he puesto manos a la obra!

Hi y'all!
After I posted the Halloween children's song compilation, some fellow teachers have asked me for the music sheets of the songs to play and sing so here you are!

Today I want to share "The Skeleton Dance" music sheet, the Halloween song for children that everybody loves so much. The song is originally in D Major, and thus it's not appropriate to play with the recorder or the glockenspiel, but it's great to sing it. Here I've prepared a Wix with the Music Sheet in D Major:

Acceder a la Partitura WIX "The Skeleton Dance"
Click to visit the Wix music sheet of the song in D Major

Nevertheless, I've arranged a version in C Major for recorder and glockenspiel (although for the latter you'd have to adapt the descending chromatic scale in the end of the song). You can see it, play it and download it here:

Descargar partitura para flauta dulce en Do Mayor de la canción de Halloween "The Skeleton Dance"
Download the music sheet for recorder in C Major of the Halloween song "The Skeleton Dance"

¡Espero vuestras opiniones!

Of course, all the rights of the song are its authors: Super Simple Songs and I've just transcribed the music sheet so all the music teachers could use it. I hope you like it! And, if you use it, please, I ask you to tell me how's it gone and the reaction of your students!
I'll be looking forward to hearing your opinions!

Autumn: making symmetrical leaves / Otoño: hacemos hojas simétricas

¡Hola a todos/as!

Hi y'all!
As you know, in Arts we're learning about various techniques with the topic of Autumn (you can see other crafts here). In the primary classes we're discovering a Mathematics characteristic that's present in some objects: symmetry. With only half a leaf, we've made lots! And only thanks to Maths!

Aquí tenéis los pasos que hemos seguido:

Here are the steps we've followed:

1. Descargamos e imprimimos las plantillas de aquí
1. Download and print the templates from here
2. Doblamos la hoja por la línea.
2. Fold the sheet over the line.
3. Cut through the outline (without unfolding it!).
4. Separamos la hoja del molde.
4. Separate the leaf from the mould.
5. Now we can use it to draw leaves on the construction paper.

We've had a lot of fun doing this craft! Moreover, everybody has put something special in it and we've got very different leaves. Do you want to see it?

Autumn leaves by Slidely Photo Gallery

Of course, I'm not forgetting about music. Some days ago I found  an idea to sing about the Autumn leaves in Carolina's fantastic blog (don't miss it, it's great!). It's a song that uses the melody of the tradicional "London Bridge is falling down" but with the lyrics about Autumn and it goes like this:

♫Autumn leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down
♫Autumn leaves are falling down, down down on the ground.

♫Rake them up and make a pile, make a pile, make a pile.
♫Rake them up and make a pile, guaranteed to make you smile.

♫Jump into the pile of leaves, pile of leaves, pile of leaves
♫Jump into the pile of leaves, taking turns if you please.

♫Autumn leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down
♫Autumn leaves are falling down, down down on the ground.

And through the next link you can see more songs about Autumn. It's great!

¡Espero que os haya gustado!

I hope you liked it!
